"Jitsuroku Chushingura (Chushingura: The Truth)"
An epic created to commemorate the 50th birthday of Shozo Makino, this film is based on the classic period drama theme of Chushingura. Scenes recognizable to all Japanese, such as the "Great Pine Corridor" and "Raid", are depicted with various stars and gorgeous sets in the typical Makino style. A fire broke out during production, destroying part of the film, but thanks to the efforts of Matsuda Film Productions, the film is available for your enjoyment.
"Raiden"
This a posthumous work of Shozo Makino and the last film starring Mashahiro Makino. It is hard to imagine that this is Makion;s first comic film. His superb performance is sure to delight all audiences. |
