"Koina no Ginpei Yuki no Wataridori (Koina no Ginpei, Migratory Snowbird)" This film is based on the original story of a wandering gambler written by popular author Shin Hasegawa. This is the first film adaptation of his story, which would later inspire many filmmakers to create further adaptations of his work. The first half of the movie depicts a man's jealousy of his best friend and the woman he loves. The second part depicts a hero who is ready to put the past behind him and risk his life for his friend. Tsumasaburo Bando's acting, with his unrivaled skill and sensitivity, makes this a must-see film.
"Kosuzume Toge (Kosuzume Pass)" This is an early film of Tsumasaburo Bando, in which he plays a minor role. It is very valuable, as it is the oldest preserved film featuring the actor. Its value is further increased by the fact that the film is one of the very few preserved works featuring the period drama star Banya Ichikawa in the lead role. |
