Description Institutional/Public Performance Rights
This program explores how lifestyle changes such as diet, stress management, and exercise are helping patients with heart disease. The program focuses on a 67-year-old man who has survived a heart attack and bypass surgery and follows him as he learns how to maintain a low-fat, vegetarian diet; combats stress through group therapy sessions and coping techniques; and participates in a medically supervised aerobic exercise program. New research indicates that reducing heart disease risk factors may only increase a personís life span by a few months to a few years, but this patient and his doctor feel that changing lifestyle habits provides at the least a strong improvement in the quality of life.
